Youth Programs
A core objective of youth programs is to mentor university students across China as they seek environmental solutions on campuses and in communities. In 2007, Future Generations initiated the Green Long March, which over four years provided 5,000 youth from 80 universities with opportunities to dialogue, travel, and learn from China’s environmental successes. The Bulgarian NGO, Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation (WCIF) invited Future Generations China to be its Chinese partner for the 2011 "Youth in Development" forum. Future Generations China held a competition across our vast university student network to selected eight Chinese youth to participate in the forum, which will take place in Sofia, Bulgaria in June 2011.
Youth in Development
Future Generations China was selected by the Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation to seek out talented and driven youth leaders in China to attend the “Youth in Development” forum in Sofia, Bulgaria. The forum will take place from June 24, 2011 to June 26, 2011 and be attended by young activitists from all over Europe and Asia. These youth leaders from the non-profit sector will engage each other on global issues affecting youth and as well as how young people can help their communities make progress on the UN Millennium Development Goals.
