The Pendeba and Taoyuan MEC Projects Win the Silver and Bronze Awards at the China Charity Project Contest

The first China Charity Project Contest is an essential part of the first China charity project exchange exhibition. The contest was organized by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the National Federation of Industry and Commerce, the Guangdong provincial government and the Shenzhen municipal government. It is also helped by Shenzhen Civil Affairs Department, Shenzhen Radio and Television Group, Society and Law Channel of CCTV, Southern Metropolitan Daily and Shenzhen Public Welfare Foundation. The theme is "Innovate Charity and Help Harmony". The contest includes charity projects for relieving groups and individuals from disaster, poverty and difficulty in education, culture, health, environmental protection and so on, and the projects to help solve social issues. The general contest was held on 12th July.

The online registration started from 7th May to 10th June and 246 projects got the qualifications to attend the contest after being reviewed. The charity project awards and the charity innovation awards were issued to 30 projects respectively, including 5 golden awards, 10 silver awards and 15 bronze awards. Assisting disability service, women and children, the youth, medical and health care, and culture education consisted of 60% of all the awarded projects. The Pendeba Natural protection and community development project and Taoyuan MEC project have gone through project collection, preliminary contest, reexamination and award evening. They were affirmed by the jury for their excellent project organization and accomplishment and respectively won the silver and bronze awards in implementing projects.

On the evening of 12th July, the award evening of the first China charity project contest was held at the Xiangmihu Grand Theatre in Hong Kong, whose theme was "Action speaks." Li Liguo, the minister of civil affairs, and Wang Rong, the party secretary of Shenzhen, attended the award evening and presented awards to the projects for the contest. In the evening, Tsering Norbu, the coordinator of Pendeba Project, accepted the award cup and certificate as well as the applause with the other award winners.
