FutureGenerations China and Goldman Sachs Gao Hua Join Forces in Cuihu Ecology Activity

On April 15th, Future Generation China, together with Goldman Sachs Gao Hua, went on an Ecology Activity in Cuihu Park.

Cuihu National City Wetland Park is located on the north bank of Shangzhuang Reservoir in Beijing, Haidian District. The park has a beautiful scenery, clear water and a vast range of aquatic plants. There are ponds of lotus, reed, exhibition of wild wetland plants, protection zone for water birds, wetland ecological agricultural park and round-lake ecological water zone. Water birds like black swan, heron, swan goose and grey geese can be seen everywhere. Due to few human activities here, the park has attracted more and more birds. Now 156 kinds of them have been observed.

The Cuihu ecological activity is organized by FutureGenerations China. The more than 40 participants include the staff and their family from Goldman Sachs Gao Hua, volunteers from Beijing Forestry University and students from Goldman School of Peking University, Tsinghua University and Renmin University. They are divided into ten groups and under the guidance of the staff, they visit the first phase project of Cuihu National City Wetland Park and watch birds on the platform in the morning.

In the afternoon, they select the right trees and hang nests of different sizes under the guidance of the staff. It is said that hanging man-made nests is also one way to attract birds. The birds have a high expectation of their nests.
