Significant Achievements of Pendeba Program in Qomolangma National Nature Preserve

Awarded one of the “World’s 50 Best Projects of Sustainable Development”by the United Nations in 1998, the Pendeba Program in Qomolangma National Nature Preserve is a forerunner in combining environmental protection with local economic development.

Qomolangma Nature Preserve was elevated to a National Nature Preserve in 1994. The preserve covered 33 thousand square kilometers in area and 4200 meters in height with a 89 thousand agricultural population.

2011 FutureGenerations Board of Directors Meeting Held

On December 14, 2011, the FutureGenerations Board of Directors teleconference was held in the Beijing office. People present at the conference included Daniel, Caroline, Dr. Zhang Hesong, Ms. Rong Hailan, Executive Director Lei Guangchun, Deputy Director Tsering Norbu, Ms. Fan Xianying, Ms. Yu Huiling and Ms Zeng Qing. The Pendeba Program Wins Top Prize of Ford Green Awards 2011
